Bettye Mckenney

Mrs. Bettye Cole McKenney age 77 of Farmville, Virginia passed away Monday August 9, 2010 in Farmville. She was born on September 1, 1932 in Richlands VA. She was a Registered Nurse and spent many years serving patients at Mattie Williams Hospital in Richlands VA and a Nursing Care Facility in Galax VA where she served as the Director of Nursing. Many lives were enriched by her compassionate care and loving spirit. She is survived by her two sons; Les Wooten and Pat Wooten both of Virginia Beach, VA; Sister and husband Anna Lou Goldblatt and Peter of Indian Lake, NY, Brothers and wives William B. Cole and Judy, of Big Stone Gap, VA and Leonard A. Cole, Jr. and Arlette of Anderson, SC. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. McKenney is preceded in death by her parents Leonard A. and Adalake Fields Cole who took her into their arms lovingly as she came home. She was reunited with deceased aunts and uncles and a nephew in a joyous occasion. Her beloved dog, Chelsea, finally joined her at the Rainbow Bridge. Our wonderful sister, aunt, cousin, and MOTHER is once again whole and happy. God has blessed her richly.
