Corbett Bowman

Mr. Corbett Lee Bowman, 87 of Burkeville passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1926 in Patrick Co., VA to the late Harvey Clarence and Mary Louisa Boyd Bowman. Mr. Bowman joined Pisgah Baptist Church in 1941. He was retired from Logging and Farming. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Hutchinson, his siblings, General Ralph Bowman, James Walter Bowman, Columbus Bowman, Acie Garfield Bowman, Della Susan Murray, Jocie Ella Berry and Lillian Pearl Duncan.

He is survived by his wife, Lottie B. Bowman, his children, Susan Quig, Rosa Osborne (Jeff), Sherry Bowman (Bennie), Carolyn Bowman, Penny Osborne (James) and Janet Elliott (Tim) all of Rice, his grandchildren, Robbie Osborne, David Osborne, Chris Hines, Matthew Osborne, Sam Hall, Amanda Hutchinson, Emily Osborne, Corbett Wade Bowman, Emma Elliott, Zebulan Elliott and Sierra Elliott; his great grandchildren, Dixie FaJohn and Georgia Marie Hines and his brother, Riley D. Bowman Sr. (Blondell), his sisters, Lucy Thompson (Samuel) and Florence Miles all of Rice.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 11:00am at Pisgah Baptist Church with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2013 6:00-9:00pm at the Shorter Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pisgah Baptist Church, P.O.
