Donald Nelson Blanton, 87, of Cullen passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 in his home. He was the husband of Margaret D. Blanton.
He was a retired Contractor and was a highly decorated U. S. Marine veteran. Having served in the Asian Pacific Theater during WWII and Korea, His duty included combat at Iwo Jima where he was wounded and was awarded numerous commendations including a Purple Heart.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in Deep River Cemetery, High Point, NC. There will also be a memorial service at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Cullen Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
