Earl Abner Crawley (May 26, 1946-September 17, 2024)

Born May 26, 1946 in Rice, Va. He passed away on September 17, 2024 in Richmond, Va at the Central Virginia McGuire VA Hospital in the Hospice unit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Handy Crawley and Parents Abner Bernard and Mattie Glasgow Crawley. He is survived by his two daughters, Tonya Pincus of Knoxville, TN and Sarah Brooks of Rice, VA. Three granddaughters Brittany Smith (Joshwa) Jefferson CityTN, Alyssa Pincus, Knoxville, TN and Caitlyn Brooks of Rice, Va. Four great grandchildren Alexander, Elizabeth, Rosalie and Theodore Smith of Jefferson City, TN. Two sisters Betty Ranson (Mike), Pamplin, Va and Geneva Blankenship (David), Evington, Va, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He never met a stranger anywhere he went. His motto was "He loved to see people smile and to hear or make them laugh." He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. He returned home and worked for many years at Stack Pole (Carbone of America) and Weavexx. He volunteered on the Rice Volunteer Fire department for several years. Memorial contributions may be made to Rice Volunteer Fire Department or Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice Va.
