Frances Ryan Overby

Frances Ryan Overby of Abilene went to be with the Lord and late husband, Frank P. Overby whom she loved dearly, Friday February 7th of 2025. She is the daughter of James and Virginia Elder Ryan who had four children, Ned (Marsha) Ryan, and her two late sisters, Mabel, and Ann (Steven). Frances was the mother of four children, a son, Alvin Powell, and daughters, Becky Powell, Rhonda Anderson, and Lisa Rozell. She loved her seven grandchildren, Cary (Pamela) Wertheimer, Ben, Chris (Sara) Wertheimer, Katie McCormack, Cody Chenault, Madeline (Troy) Cline, Christopher and five great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Frances loved going camping with her family to the mountains, listening to country/bluegrass music, sewing/crochet, being an avid Christian, and found great joy cooking for her family. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 13-18. “Go Rest High On That Mountain”.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Shorter Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 2:00PM at Shorter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family.
