Frank J. Guermonprez, 95, of Farmville, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Charlottesville due to complications of surgery. He was born in New York on July 23, 1918, the only son of Clara Rost and Frances Guermonprez.
He was a retired electrician and a member of IBEW for over 50 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Joan Points (Russell) and children, Jeani Costner (Sydney), Russell (Christine), Patricia, Albert (Sally), John and fiancé, Kelly and Jean O’Sullivan and children, Kevin (Donna), Brian (Carmen) Mike (Lori) and Jim (Jenny); a devoted daughter-in-law, Diane Guermonprez of Farmville, who cared for him for the last seven years and her and Donald’s children, Donald (Lisa), Frank (Jennifer), Yvonne Alliger (Mike), and Deborah Berg (Jason); Donald’s children, Rene’ (Angela), Lynette Williams (Ray), and Scott (Mayome); stepdaughter, Annette Trombley (Jerry) of Charlottesville and Farmville and son, Andrew Trombley (Jennifer); ex daughter-in-law, Melissa Trombley who also assisted with his care; stepson, Fred Nordhorn of Maryland; 42 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Franz in 1993 and his second wife, Marion Beard Nordhorn in 2004 and a son, Donald in 2002.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meherrin, VA.
