Harry Newcomb

Harry Dave Newcomb, 51, of Pamplin, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in Farmville.

He was born in Halifax County, August 9, 1959 to the late James Mason and Virginia Mae Martin Newcomb. He was employed in maintenance with Walmart and was a hardworking outdoorsman who loved raising his garden.

Mr. Newcomb is survived by his wife, Brenda of Pamplin, five children: Kimberly Newcomb Solliday of Appomattox, Valerie Ann Hazelwood of Pamplin, Michael Newcomb of St. Augustine, FL, Roger Lee Hazelwood, Jr. of Appomattox and Jonathan Scott Hazelwood of Felton, DE one brother, James Newcomb of Clover one sister, Gail Jennings of Brookneal and seven grandchildren: Hailey, Kevin Jr., Hunter, Destiny Amanda, Emily and Brandon.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
