James Farrell

James R. Farrell Jr. age 86 of Rice, VA passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

He was born on April 27, 1928 in Bar Harbor, Maine to the late James and Betty Brooks Farrell Sr. He owned a local greenhouse, Farrell’s Greenhouse in Rice, VA.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years; Mary Farrell, daughters; Nancy Farrell, Carolyn Smith, step children; Joann Williams, James B. Dungans, Michael Dungans, 6 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, brother; Donnie Farrell(Linda), sister; Alice Cousins (Rae), aunt; Rachel Nichols.

He was preceded in death by Corrine E. Farrell, Embert Farrell, Eleanor Littlefield, Juanita Keene, John Farrell, David Farrell and a grandson; Bruce Leighton.

A graveside funeral will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00AM in Amelia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Shorter Funeral Home.
