James Prescott

James Henry Prescott, age 76 of Rice, VA passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
He was retired from Norfolk Southern as a supervisor and served in the military Marines for twenty one years. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 7059, a Cub Scout leader and a former deacon at Pisgah Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol one son; James B. Prescott and his wife, Paula, one cousin; Jackie Teague; two grandchildren; Christopher Lee and Candice Danielle Green and two great grandchildren; Payton Riley Bailey and Landon Avery Green. He was predeceased by his parents; Virginia Wilder Prescott and J.B. Prescott, one brother; Charles Ray Prescott and his grandparents, Dossie Ellen and Henry Prescott.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 2:00PM at Pisgah Baptist Church with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, VA. Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00PM – 8:00PM in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home.
