Marian Alden

Marian Weber Alden passed away peacefully on Wednesday,June 8,2016.She was born on January 10,1937 in Elizabeth,New Jersey to O.C. and Helen Weber .She grew up in Cranford,New Jersey.She lived in Cumberland for the last 26 years.Marian is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years ,Robert F.Alden,"Bob" and her daughter,Jane Weber Alden Bailey. Marian was an avid gardener,an accomplished artist and loving wife,mother,grandmother,and great-grandmother. She leaves two daughters,Nancy Caelen and Ellen Alden-Chevalley(Scott) and son-in-law,Mark Bailey:eight grand-children,Michael,Robert,Marianne,Katherine (Mark),Josef,James,Eric (Catherine) and Adam:11 great-grandchildren,Christian,Jaida,Avery,Charlotte,Austin,Madeleine,Samantha,Madison,Jacob,Haiden,and Sawyer:two sisters,Helen Schultz and Joanne Lewis and cousin,Melva Murray.                                                                                          The family request memorial contributions in her name to the Ama Nyame Memorial Medical Center,72 Zion Hill Road,Farmville,Va.23901.Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family .
