Marvin Stimpson

Marvin Rowe Stimpson, Jr., 88, of Farmville (Cumberland County), died Sunday, November 11, 2012 in Richmond.
He was born April 13, 1924 in Farmville to the late Marvin Rowe Stimpson, Sr. and Camelia Hugh Holman Stimpson. He was a Dairy Farmer and a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII.
Mr. Stimpson is survived by his wife Myrtle of Farmville, three daughters, Gail Doss (Bill) of Farmville, Valarie Stimpson of Bonaire in the AN Islands, and Debra Gillispie (Carroll, Jr.) of Cumberland, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Stimpson and Paul Stimpson and three sisters; Edith Sanderson, Lucille Reynolds and Annie Stimpson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Brown’s Presbyterian Church with military honors. Burial will be held privately in Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM, Tuesday at Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville.
