Mrs Reid Atkins Schneider age 84 of Burkeville, Virginia passed away Sunday May 1, 2011 in Farmville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter J. Schneider. She is survived by her sisters; Mary Bates and her husband Pete of Nottoway County, VA , Shirley Layne and her husband Owen of Richmond, VA, her brother Tom Thurman Atkins of Prince Edward County, VA; 10 nieces and 6 nephews; her special friend Barbara Wine of Burkeville, VA; and her dog Toby. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Shorter Funeral Home 1905 S. Main Street Farmville, VA. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday May 5, 2011 in the chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Burkeville, VA.
