Retha Lewis Arnold, 83 of Abilene VA passed away at her home
on July 2, 2013.
She was born on September 7, 1929 in N.C. to the late Joseph and Mary Tolley Lewis.
She was the widow of SSgt (Staff Sergent) James William Arnold Jr.
She is survived by her son; Larry E. Arnold (Rhonda) of Prospect, VA and a daughter; Mary E. Arnold of Abilene, VA (Jessie W. Holman), one granddaughter; Ashley Nichole “Niki” Williams (Robby) and three great granddaughter; Aynsley, Kristin, Jillian “Jilly”.
She is preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 6:30PM – 8:30PM at Shorter Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00AM in the Prospect Gospel Tabernacle with interment to follow in the Willow Grove Cemetery in Darlington Heights, VA.
