Robert “Andy” Leatherwood, Sr. passed away on June 16, 2020 in his home in Abilene, Virginia. He was born in Farmville, Virginia, the son of Clifford “Jack” Leatherwood and Linda Leatherwood. Andy passionately loved his work, his family and his friends. Andy enjoyed cooking for others, especially pork BBQ. He was a loyal member of the Farmville Moose Lodge #968 and participated in the Southside Virginia Emmaus Walk #53.
He is survived by his wife Amy Leatherwood, son Robert “Drew” Leatherwood, Jr. and his loyal canine Lola; his brother William “Alan” and sister-in-law Denise Leatherwood; nieces Michaela and Olivia Leatherwood; Aunt Mae Goforth; Aunt Ann Goforth, Uncle Coy and wife Frances Leatherwood; Uncle Tommie and wife Debbie Leatherwood; cousin Sandra and husband Kenny Epker; cousin Chuck Goforth; cousin Ron Leatherwood; and cousin Kyle and wife Katie Leatherwood. He was preceded in death by Uncle Carl Goforth, Uncle Bobbie Leatherwood, cousin Jimmie Goforth, and cousin “Donnie” Goforth.
A graveside service will to be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11 am, Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rice, Virginia. In lieu of flowers please donated to the Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad or F.A.C.E.S. food bank.
