Ronald Eure

SSG. Ronald Lambert Eure, age 31 passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

SSG. Eure is survived by his wife; Hannah, three children; Sterling, Shelby and Lydia.

He is also survived by his parents; Wayne and Joyce Eure, a brother; Jamie Eure (Chrissy), sister; Traci Eure and six nieces and nephews.

SSG. Eure was born on February 8, 1984 in Ahoskie, NC. As a child he dreamed of becoming a Cavalry Scout in the United States Army. In July of 2004, he fulfilled that dream. During his time as a soldier he was deployed twice to Iraq and served at Fort Hood, Fort Knox, Fort Benning and Camp Casey, Korea. He earned numerous medals and honors along the way. SSG. Eure was still in service as an active duty soldier at the time of his death.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 23, 2015 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home presided by Pastor Steve Conwell. Family will receive friends following the service until 5:00PM.

SSG. Eure will be laid to rest with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
