Ruby Cogdill

Ruby Holland Cogdill, 89 of Farmville, VA passed away on December 6, 2014. She was born to the late Josh and Julie Holland on December 26, 1924 in TN.

She was retired from Craddock Terry Shoe Factory where she worked for 32 years.

She was a loving, kind and cheerful person who loved to play cards, reading and yard sales.

She is survived by one son; James Cogdill (Judy) of Powhatan, four daughters; Patricia Jones of Pamplin, Mary Davis (Tommy) of Southerland, Iva Cook of Mt Verde FL and Elizabeth Cook of Midlothian, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Ruby was one of fourteen children and is preceded in death by 13 of her siblings and her husband John Thomas Cogdill.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 1:00PM in Hatcher Baptist Church with interment to follow in Grove Church Cemetery, RT 13 in Cumberland. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Shorter Funeral Home.
