Thelma Bullock

Mrs. Thelma Ruth Bullock, 94 of Farmville, formerly of Portsmouth, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side.  She was born January 23, 1919 in Lumberton, NC to the late John Walter and Lila Brisson Taylor.  She was a loving wife and mother.  Mrs. Bullock was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed going to church and canning food.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Bullock and her three siblings.

She is survived by her children, David Bullock and wife, Toni of Cumberland, Clyde Bullock and wife, Carolyn of Waves, NC and Frances Rhoads and husband, Tom of Orem, Utah; her sister, Kathleen Rogers of Aikens, SC, 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 2:00pm at the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home with interment to be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 12:00(Noon) at Greenlawn Cemetery in Chesapeake, VA.  Family will receive friends on Sunday 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
