William Lee O'Neil

William Lee O'Neil, Jr. ** August 23, 1950 – January 23, 2025 Blackstone, VA. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William "Billy" O'Neil, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Billy was born in Detroit, MI to William Lee O'Neil, Sr. and Irma Ann O'Neil. He served in the United States Army in both VietNam and Germany during the VietNam war. Billy was known for his quick wit and his passion for animals. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his unwavering support for his loved ones. Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his children, Brian and June; his step-children Robin (Dewey), Rick, Tom and Michelle (Jamie); his sister, Wanda Girtain, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irma, a sister, Rita Ann Still, and a brother Tommy O'Neil. A memorial service will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11 am.
